Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis (Calipers)
Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis (Calipers) INR 0 INR 0 Knee-ankle-foot orthotics (KAFO) consist of an AFO with metal uprights, a mechanical knee joint, and 2 thigh bands. KAFO can be used in quadriceps paralysis or weakness to maintain knee stability and control flexible genu valgum or varum. KAFO also is used to limit the weight bearing of the thigh, leg, and foot with quadrilateral or ischial containment brim. A KAFO is more difficult to don and doff than an AFO, so it is not recommended for patients who have moderate-to-severe cognitive dysfunction. Each KAFO is custom-made to the specific requirements of the individual. There are numerous design options available that make usage of the Orthosis both functional and comfortable. A detailed examination and assessment of the patient allows us to suggest the best available component combination. True 1449317651

Scoliosis Brace (Boston Brace)
Scoliosis Brace (Boston Brace) INR 0 INR 0 The Boston Brace is a plastic body jacket used in the treatment of adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. The Boston brace, also referred to as a Thoraco-Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis (TLSO) brace, wraps under the arms and around the rib cage, lower back, and hips in order to cast the spine into a straighter position. Bracing treatment is typically prescribed for patients when the spine’s curvature is between 25 and 40 degrees, and it has shown to be an effective means in stopping the progression of scoliotic curves. The Boston Brace is most effective for curves in the middle and lower back. The brace is typically worn full-time (18 to 23 hours per day) to minimize the risk of curve progression. True 1449471097

Leg Length Discrepancy Shoe (Heel Lift Shoes)
Leg Length Discrepancy Shoe (Heel Lift Shoes) INR 0 INR 0 Roughly 85% of the world's population have one leg that’s longer than the other, otherwise known as Limb Length Discrepancy (LLD). Differences in limb length can vary, from a diminutive difference, to a difference of multiple inches between legs, which throws off the entire body's balance and gait. Serious LLD causes asymmetric deformities that can create pain, injury, biomechanical problems and incorrect gait patterns. Common symptoms of LLD are knee pain, foot pain, nerve pain in legs, lower back pain, poor balance, finding it uncomfortable to stand and habitually leaning on one leg to stand. When a bone has been shifted due to an injury/surgery or when a bone does not mature properly, this can create LLD. So a person with LLD must compensate for this asymmetrical and abnormal body structure, trying to reach equilibrium and therefore shifting their balance, flexing a knee, etc., which makes them vulnerable to injury, pain or biomechanical defects. If you believe you have LLD, please see your doctor. SHOE RECOMMENDATIONS: If the difference between the limb length is extremely small, then chances are there won’t be any biomechanical or painful repercussions. If the limb length difference is noticeable but under 3/8 of an inch, the sufferer can wear Extra Extra Depth Shoes because they have insoles that can be removed to even out a person with minor LLD. However, if the person suffering from LLD has a limb length difference of more than 3/8 of an inch, they are recommended to get their shoes modified. A lift will have to be inserted in their shoes' outsoles, to even our their legs and body. True 1449472831
